  • What is a member system used for?

    Membership systems are used in all sorts of industries to build a database of contacts and a community with a similar interest. This could be anything from a sports club to a historical society or community group.


    A member system gives new and renewing members an easy way to subscribe and donate to your organisation. It also keeps data secure and reduces administrative tasks.

  • Do I have to pay per member?

    You should be careful about fees related to any member system. The software we recommend and use widely with our clients just has a annual fee and if you are taking payments, you will need to pay the payment provider such as Stripe.

  • Which member system do you recommend?

    Every organisation has both standard and specific needs when it comes to managing their members and dealing with backend admin processes. Therefore, it is important to discuss and understand your needs, however, we tend to find Membermojo is a very reasonably priced UK based system with a good set of standard features with flexibility to grow over time. It has a very user friendly configuration and admin dashboard and we are recognised as an independent consultant who can help you to get the base system configured, any existing members imported and training for admins.

  • How can PMGID help to get a member system ready for us?

    All membership software will have their own standard support but when it comes to taking time to define your requirements and ensure you are getting the most from the system, keeping in mind that you are aware of any limitations if any, this is where we can help as an independent consultant. Of course, you can spend time learning a new system and configuring it yourself, but it is likely that you will miss something and set the system up incorrectly and it will end up being as time consuming as before. Having in-depth knowledge and getting a foundation platform setup correctly with training for administrators is priceless and saves time and money in the long run.

  • How long does it take to configure a member system?

    Most of our clients are set up within a week - but that largely depends on availability of the client to provide answers to our questions to ensure your requirements are met and acquiring a 'clean' list of your existing members, if any, to import for you. We are, however, extremely patient and understanding when it comes to your availability and can manage the project for you to ensure it gets done right and at your pace.

  • Some members still prefer to pay by BACS is this an issue?

    Absolutely not, the member system we recommend allows for members to easily and seurely pay online with a debit/credit card or choose to pay offline and you can configure what to accept - BACS, standing order, direct debit etc. If possible, we recommend you encourage paying using a debit/credit card as that reduces admin effort in having to mark an outstanding payment as paid once received.

  • What if some members can't use a computer?

    The membership system we recommend offers functionality to allow admins to register and renew members on their behalf - even if they don't have an email address!

  • What are your fees for setting up a member system?

    It all depends on your requirements, support and training needs, but generally it takes us less than 8 hours to configure a system like Membermojo from start to finish. If it is a fairly standard setup it could take half this time.
